It is the 2nd year of the row that Team Amazonia was racing Edmonton Tour.
A beautiful tour in an amazing part of the world.
After some deceptions last year despite some good results. Luis, the team's manager has expectations. We are here to chase some stages and top 10 GC with Martino Estrada
Stage 1, Sergio Bergasa was the fastest rider on the finish line, whole the team was very happy despite the off day & mechanical issue of our Leader Martino Estrada
The team manager wasn't very surprised, Sergio won several TT especially in "prologue" Tour.
Amazonia was proud to wear the leader jersey even if we thought the fight for the Jersey will be tough.
Stage 2 the team give the chance to Patrico Illan in case of bunch sprint and our leader Jersey was protected but neither had a good day on the bike and we lost the Jersey unfortunately what a deception.
Stage 3 After a good night of rest Sergio Bergasa was in better shape and took the break away and demonstrate than he can won a stage also with an impressive final sprint. Sergio was very emotional after crossing the line in 1st position that give him a "virtual" podium.
The final stage whole the team did an enormous job to keep the 3rd of the classification on the podium. He crossed the line 5th and it was a relief for the team & the manager.
After a 4th GC place last year on the Kangaroo Tour, Sergio Bergasa finish 3rd on Edmonton Tour.
Amazonia was so proud of the whole team, they did a fantastic job to keep Sergio Bergasa on the podium.
A well deserve podium.
